If you’ve ever wanted to switch broadband providers, you’ll know that it used to be tricky and full of admin procedures and policies. However, the communications governing board, Ofcom, has now made the process a lot easier and smoother.
Previously, when you were ready to switch, you had to ask your old provider for information such as a Migration Access Code (MAC) and then you had to contact your new provider and pass these details along.
Ofcom are now allowing providers access to this information without you having to pass it along yourself - a much smoother process.
The only downside is that the migration now takes longer but hopefully, this new procedure will encourage those stuck with unwanted broadband providers to move to somewhere that is more aligned with their needs.
At YTL, we pride ourselves on making the whole handover as smooth as possible and so, of course, this new change makes us very optimistic about the telecoms industry. If you want to discuss your communications system with us, get in touch and we will be more than happy to have a chat about how we can help.
